civilization is nice
wow
! it really has been a while since i lasted xanga'ed. i've been promising to update and now is prob a good time.
so contrary to popular belief my life is nothing like grey's anatomy and pretty different for my friends' intern years. just got back from week of training in texas and boy am i glad
although i miss my new friends
before we left for our official field training portion, i was already tired from sleeping with the world's loudest snorer
with a few baby snorers on the side. but sleeping on cots was easier when we had a lil heater. and who would have thought i would miss our toilets (imagine two rows of toilets facing each other with no doors... it was always fun to be like "um, hi nice to meet you [for the first time]"
as you were squatting to pee.) and as weird as it was i was missing our "shower room"= one area with 6 rusty shower heads after crawling in the dirt. and food! yum! it was nice to eat hot food!! MREs not my favorite foods...
actually minus loud sleepers it was a really good time. met great people, took alot of classes and learned to apprecaite medics/corpsmen and got a glimpse of what my life could be like. so regardless of how you feel about everything going on over there, say a prayer for those out there serving, leaving behind their families , risking their lives for people...some of whom are trying to kill them.
on a lighter note...i wish i could have seen myself/squad during a few moments
:
-first night in the field it was SOO cold i found myself rolled up in a little ball inside my sleeping bag, my head was 1 foot away from the opening... i was curious to see how cold it was- stuck out just my index finger and quickly pulled it back in- way too cold
-our squad's pittiful attempt to locate and evaute two casulties from enemy grounds
-me trying to get up from the prone position with kevlar, LCE, rucksack and weapon and almost falling each time
miss all you guys and hope you're well!
